Inspired by The Shore Line, I had my students develop a “miniature” media work in the form of a podcast. I invited Liz to give a guest lecture on “Techniques and Poetics of the Podcast”.
This was the assignment: “Create a 4-minute pod- or video-cast that presents one aspect, characteristic, activity or issue bound to the Montreal shoreline as you know it. Here, place figures hugely: be thinking about historical depth and contemporary practices. Cultivate the local. Lived experience, first-hand knowledge, direct contact, ethnographies or oral histories should figure prominently as methodology in this assignment. »
