This assignment asks students to consider a place in Montreal as subject. Students use research-creation methods to create a project that presents their chosen place from a unique and distinct perspective through intermedial forms of mapping. I invited Liz to speak to my class about how she used place as a prompt for creation in The Shore Line.
Simply put, this assignment asks students in groups of three to develop a research question about a place in Montreal that can be “answered” through the creation of an intermedial work. This project requires deep reflection and commitment to the process, media, and methods as integral to the mapping of a “place.”
